Even when I was very young I remember spending ages in my grandma’s garden, picking flowers of every colour and would love arranging them. I don’t think she minded too much, bless her!
My other passion is animals and I spent a few years working with them before taking up a floristry apprenticeship. For six years, I learned my trade at a florist’s shop then set up my own place – Helgaz Flowers – and have never looked back.
Being a florist is a bit like being on an emotional roller coaster, from births and weddings to funerals, as well as all of the other occasions that you can possibly think of – happy, sad, funny, quirky, understated, over the top…
My job changes with the seasons and is just as varied as the colours of the flowers I love to arrange for you.
